GGPoker through a VPN: what is allowed and what is banned
Short version: download through a VPN if you must, never play through one. The client connects directly to the game servers and works when the room's site is blocked, so a VPN adds nothing for play - while the spoofed country it creates is a direct breach of network rules that ends in an account review.
A VPN is acceptable only for fetching the installer when the room's site does not open. For play it is unnecessary - the client runs without it - and prohibited: network rules require playing from the account country, and the security system compares it with the connection country. A mismatch triggers a review and may end in account restrictions.
Why playing through a VPN is banned
The room must know the player\'s country: promotions, cashier methods and the right to offer play at all depend on it. A VPN spoofs the country, which under the rules equals registering with a false one. The security system cross-checks account country, connection country and payment data; discrepancies trigger a document request, and a confirmed spoof leads to a block pending investigation. Funds are usually returned, but it costs weeks.
When a VPN is genuinely needed
- The site is blocked and you need the mobile build. Turn it on, download, turn it off.
- The provider interferes with the client\'s connection - rare. Try DNS 8.8.8.8 first, then support.
Travel and relocation
Leaving the country for a while - tell support the destination and dates in advance so the new region does not read as a spoof. Moving permanently - change the account country through support with new documents. Both cases are handled without a VPN.

Public 8.8.8.8 resolves most "client cannot connect" cases.
