Poker hand rankings: the 10 hand rankings in order with examples
There are 10 hand rankings in poker and the order is the same for hold'em, Omaha and most other variants. Each is shown with cards below, with the rules for comparing equal hands and the one place the order changes - short deck.

From highest to lowest: royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair, high card. A hand always uses 5 cards. Equal hands compare their highest cards, then the kicker - the card outside the combination.

Breaking ties
Rank of the hand first, then the cards inside it, then the kicker. Two pairs of kings: the higher second card wins; identical - the pot splits. Suits carry no rank. Where the order changes: in short deck the flush beats the full house because fewer cards of each suit remain - short deck poker. In Omaha the order is standard but the hand must use exactly two hole cards - Omaha rules.
